Top 16 in the World Finish for Singapore's Shannon Leong
In the final phase of the Karate World Championships in Cairo, Egypt, Senpai Shannon Leong, representing Singapore, advanced to the top 16 position in the prestigious tournament. Making history for Singapore Karate, Shannon Leong becomes the first Female karate athlete in Singapore to achieve the top 16 position in the World Championships.
In her round robin pool, Shannon bested highly ranked athletes from Canada and Czech Republic while losing out to the eventual bronze medal winner Italy. She secured her spot for the round of 16, where she met another eventual bronze medal winner from Egypt.
